Santos Makuieika – Wixárika Elder & Marakame

Santos Makuieika is a respected Wixárika elder and Marakame who carries the ceremonial traditions, prayers, songs and ancestral wisdom of his people. For many years, he has dedicated his life to preserving and sharing the sacred traditions of the Wixárika lineage, guiding ceremonies with humility, authenticity and deep reverence.

Through prayer, music, storytelling and ritual, Santos creates a safe and grounded space for healing, reflection and spiritual connection. His ceremonies invite participants to experience the depth of an ancient tradition while honouring the values of respect, community and relationship with the natural world.

At Libélula, Santos leads our Peyote ceremonies and shares teachings from the Wixárika tradition, offering guests the rare opportunity to learn directly from an Indigenous elder carrying generations of ancestral knowledge.
